Thank you to Paul Schweiger of CANCAN/Uptown Row for chairing our Motor City Makeover committee this year, and thank you to everyone who helped plan, set up, promote the event. And of course, thank you to everyone who participated!

We ended up postponing our cleanup until Sunday because Saturday was just too much of a mess. That impacted our turnout since some folks had early Mother’s Day plans or church, but, we still had a strong and might crew of about 12 people.

Without larger numbers, we couldn’t hit every location we wanted to get to, but we were able to cover Second Ave alley next to Pallister Park, Delaware btw Third and the Lodge, Delaware-Seward alley btw Second and Third, and a little bit of Seward-Virginia Park alley btw Second and Third. We had a lot of fun, and this event is always a great way for neighbors to meet and enjoy each other as we clean up!

During the MCM cleanup, we talked about scheduling a few more cleanups throughout the year and focusing on one targeted area each time. Stay tuned for dates on those, and please contact us if you notice areas in bad shape. We also want to find contact information for building owners who do not keep areas near their property cleaned up so we can reach out to put pressure on them.
